The First Night Home

I am very pleased to announce that Miss Lola slept straight through the night, not waking up once! I got up around 3am to go to the bathroom and realized that I woke up naturally and not from Lola's crying. Aside from being a relief it was also kind of frightening. I checked her breathing and went back to sleep. Nothing was wrong.

I laid in bed waiting for her to start screaming any minute. Didn't happen. She slept straight through the night without any trouble! We are such proud parents!

Lola was up for much of the day today. She spent a very long time eating Bethany's nutritious milk! I've been writing a special breast feeding song to sing to Lola which goes something like this.

Come on Lola, you've got to eat.
So drink that milk from Mommy's teat!
It makes you strong it keeps you fit
It makes you smart and makes you shit!

Something like that.

Anyway, I'm slowly trying to let all of my friends know about our new arrival. Since I had a fairly good night's sleep I think I'll have more endurance later on to talk to more people. So if I haven't gotten to you yet I apologize, it's been pretty hard to function past 7pm when my minutes are free.

Lola did a little bit of mimicking of Daddy today. I was holding her and sticking my tongue in and out at her and she was repeating the action! It was quite amazing and incredibly cute. What am I talking about? Every last thing she does is adorable. She really is the cutest baby in the whole wide world. I just want to put her between my teeth and start chewing.

Congratulations! Lil' LL is very cute. I remember the car ride from the hospital when we took Henry home for the first time. I was so nervous, I think I checked his seatbelt 10 times. I am so happy for all three of you, can't wait to meet the family. Talk to you soon John.
