Can't Sleep Cuz-A-Da Clustering!

If you read yesterday's post you learned how Lola was a good little girl her first night home and slept the whole night through. Bethany and I were convinced we had a perfect baby. I'm not a superstitious person, but next time I make such a claim I'll be sure to find a piece of wood to knock on. For last night our precious little angel woke us up every hour on the hour, hungry as all Hell.
Concerned that maybe Lola was using Bethany as a human pacifier, we called the hospital's Warm Line to seek advice. The Warm Line is a special service provided by Women and Infants where their staff of trained nurses answer any question you may have about childcare. Quite a fantastic service, free of charge.
Turns out our Lola was doing something called "Cluster Feeding" which is perfectly normal. Sometimes newborns just want to feed constantly, so there was nothing for us to worry about. Thank you Warm Line! And thank you Bethany for doing such a great job making sure Senorita Cutenhopper stays well fed throughout the night.
Lola had a mean case of the hiccups today which made her entire body go into short staccato spasms. It looked like she could have combusted with each hiccup. I tried burping her on a whim to see if it would make her stop. It actually worked! I was so impressed with myself.
My friends and former roommates Bill and Jessica are coming to visit tonight from Brookline (they didn't end up coming the other night as I had previously stated). They're bring along some other good pals of mine, Justin and Ashley. Perhaps the look of Lola's lovely face will inspired both of these couples to reproduce as well. I sure hope so. Lola can really use a few new baby friends. So come on guys! What are you waiting for?

Lola is cuteeeee, aaaahhh
Bethany and John, Congratulations. Keep up the breast feeding. It is a lot cheaper than formula and healthier and easier too. The breastfeeding song was hilarious. Cyndy and I are working on the shower plans and will see you on Saturday. Love to all especially Lola
