Gifty, Gifto, Giftopolis!

The picture above shows a better example of Lola chillin' in her swing, a gift from friend Chris Scalzi. It also shows her enjoying a delectable pacifier, an object which she normally finds difficult to keep in her mouth.

On the topic of gifts, we received not one but two carefully packed packages a la the United States Parcel Service. The first package was from Bev Nicklin, Melissa Nicklin's mother, who just so happens to be a family friend of the Duffy clan. Thanks for the onesie and receiving blanket, Bev! The second package was from my ethnic friend, fellow Connecticut native, and former college pal Christina Papanikolaou. Thanks for the swaddlers, cute stuffed bunny thing, and the Greek to English Dictionary (which was immediately thrown in the fire prior to unwrapping.)

Christina was one of the many friends I feel guilty for not inviting to our baby shower. I'm so sorry Christina, but you know how my family feels about Greeks! You're sure to be invited to Lola's next big event, which will most likely be her first birthday, unless anyone reading would like to throw her a surprise unbirthday which would be completely retarded.

My apologies for the use of the word "retarded". For those born last century rest assured that with this generation it has taken on a new meaning.

Anyway, Lola has a new name now. We're sick of people singing songs by The Kinks, Barry Manilow, and that incessant song from the musical Damn Yankees to us. From here on end Lola will be referred to as Sweetle-Deetle-Doo. Please update your Rolodex.

Bethany took Lola to exchange the piece of crap humidifier she purchased. She must have picked up a defective model because the new one seems to work fine. Way to go, Bethany!

this picture and the one in the post about her cord are the cutest ever!

ps: I never heard those songs... so you can trust I wont be singing anything of the sorts. Yet, I think next time I see lil'lola I will have to sing bright eyes by Bonnie Tyler, its an essential song for all to know. And when she turns 21 I will bring her to a kareoke night.
