Lola Loves a Weekend!

In a matter of minutes (or hours, depending on how quickly we get crack-a-lackin') we are heading off to our weekend get-away, this time to see my family. Today and tonight will be spent in Norwalk, Connecticut at Grandma Jill's. Grandma Jill is looking forward to babysitting her granddaughter while Mommy, Uncle Ben, and myself will go out on the town for Movie Madness Night. I won a set of movie tickets at work and we plan on taking full advantage. Sorry Ben, you'll have to pay for your own ticket!

Speaking of work, as a side note, I got a job at RISD. For those who don't know it stands for the Rhode Island School of Design. I was happy to finally give my notice at the certain corporate coffee shop which will remain nameless. So now I'll have a job closer to my field and it's pretty exciting. Lola is simply thrilled! I'll miss the friends I've made at the java gyp joint, though.

Anyway, back to our weekend plans. After our exciting day of play in Norwalk we will head up to Carmel, New York where a belated shower will be held for our girl by Grandma Rose and Grandpa Sal. It's going to be a fantastic way for some of our long-distant relatives to finally get to meet Lola. People from Long Island and Pennsylvania, you know, places like that. We are looking forward to the festivities.

Here's a cute picture of Lola smiling!

Lola smiled quite a bit at an overly-excited woman sitting at the table next to us at Campanelli's last night. The woman was even more excited when she found out Lola shared her birthday. She was a very nice woman enjoying a Friday evening dinner out with what I assumed was her daughter. Personally I think Lola was so smiley because of the woman's loud and brightly colored shirt.

That's about it, I guess. Lola still sleeps, eats, smiles, and farts a lot. She's a good lil' growin' girl. Oh, we like took her to the park last week. The picture below is proof of the outing except you can't really tell we're at a park. It's just a nice family snapshot. We have big plans to take Lola to the zoo and mini-golfing. Possibly next weekend? We'll see how the weather holds up. Okay, that's enough of this. Tune in next month for another update.
